Green space @McKnight Blvd and McCall Way NE Calgary

Jann Arden has launched a new campaign against the practice of shipping Canadian draft horses from Canadian airports, including YYC, to be slaughtered overseas. In 2019 over 2700 of these “gentle giants” were exported live from Canada to Japan and South Korea, where they were slaughtered for a luxury item; raw horse flesh basashi.

They endured a long journey without food and water, packed into crates with three or four others. Sometimes, horses go down and cannot get up again and some even die on these long journeys.

PLEASE JOIN US AND JANN ARDEN FOR A PROTEST AGAINST THIS HEINOUS CANADIAN PRACTICE. All welcome, but please be mindful of Covid rules as they apply to masks and physical distancing.

For more information please check the event’s Facebook page:
