Access to Information documents reveal yet another unforgiveable atrocity: the grueling story of an emaciated 20-year-old draft type mare who was forced to travel for over three hours from breeding farm to slaughterhouse. She was found collapsed in the trailer upon arrival and was killed by gunshot when discovered on the floor. Two other older mares traveled in the same trailer – more victims of this cruel industry that breeds horses for live export and slaughter in Japan.
